According to Forbes, The world currently has 2640 Billionaires, with a combined net worth of well above $12 Trillion. Last year the world had a total of 2668 Billionaires, which is down by 28, in the latest Forbes list of richest people on the planet 2023. 

Combining the net worth of the top 10 richest individuals would be over $1.4 Trillion in 2023. Even though the Finance and investments industry has the most billionaires (372), Tech start-up CEOs have 80% of the top 10 wealthiest people. Elon Musk (CEO of Tesla, SpaceX, a Boring Company & recently acquired microblogging company Twitter) is the richest man in the world with a net worth of $229.8 Billion as of August 09, 2023.
