How to move files from one Google Drive to another?

Google Drive is a great option for online cloud storage. Google Drive is a default app that comes with all smartphones.

The trick to perfect storage of files is having multiple backups. Knowing how to move your files can be useful.

Google Drive Files

Google Drive is available in three different ways: via the web, Drive for Desktop, or the mobile app. Knowing how to download files using each of these options is useful for backing up Google Drive files.

Remember that not all services have a synchronization option with Google Drive.

If you want to back up your files in a specific location without synchronizing, you’ll need to upload them to other services.

You can link your Google Drive account with another account to sync and move your files all at once.

Manually transfer Google Drive files to One Drive

Google-based documents cannot be moved directly to One Drive from the Google Drive Desktop application, but other files can be transferred successfully. You’ll receive an error if you try to transfer something that’s linked to a Google Service. It won’t finish, but you can still move other files.

  1. Choose the Google Drive account from which you wish to export your data.
  2. Select the files, folders, or data that you want to transfer.
  3. Choose the Share option by selecting the attachment and clicking on the right-click button.
  4. Enter the email addresses of those you wish to share documents with.
  5. Don’t forget to give access to other users. You can modify its settings under the General Access button.
  6. Click the Done button after entering your desired email address.
  7. You can also send the document along with notes. This step is optional.

The file will then be moved to the OneDrive folder from the Google Drive folder.

With the Google Drive Migration tool, you can automate the download and upload of files. This is useful if you are transferring a large number of files.

  • Download the Google Drive Migration Tool, install it, and run it with administrator rights.

  • This utility will scan your newly added drive to show you its properties.
  • Filters, such as file type or date, can be customized to meet your needs.

Google Takeout

Google Takeout is a tool that allows you to download all of the data in your Google Account, including Drive.
