Royal Enfield Bullet 350: The oldest Royal Enfield

Besides being the oldest offering from Royal Enfield, it was also an entry-level model. In addition to that, it is also the longest-running production bike in the world.

But now, the Royal Enfield Hunter 350 has taken the entry-level spot. For your reference, there is hardly any difference between the prices of their base variants. The Hunter 350’s price starts at Rs 1.49 lakh, while the Bullet 350’s price starts from 1.50 lakh. All are ex-showroom prices.

Moreover, the Royal Enfield Bullet 350 has two variants on offer and six exciting colours. Besides that, this cruiser bike is BS6 phase 2 compliant.

Unlike its 350cc siblings, the Bullet 350 has a small engine displacement with a different state of tune. The only thing is that it has low power but more torque than its 350cc siblings. And less power translates to less fuel consumption.

So, if you are planning to buy an old-school cruiser bike yet well-renowned, the Royal Enfield Bullet 350 should be the suitable choice. However, below are a few things that you should know about this bike.

Specifications

In terms of specifications, the Royal Enfield Bullet 350 is constructed by using a single downtube chassis and engine as a stressed member. For your reference, the majority of the Royal Enfield bikes are based on the same architecture. The overall kerb weight of the Royal Enfield Bullet 350 is 191kg.

Moreover, the Bullet 350 uses a 346cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine, which is tuned to churn out 19.1 bhp at 5250 rpm and 28 Nm of peak torque at 4000 rpm. The rear wheel is spun by a standard five-speed manual transmission. Besides that, it has a fuel tank capacity of 13.5 litres.

As far as fuel efficiency is concerned, the Royal Enfield Bullet 350’s mileage is 38 km/l. Please note that this is an average real-world mileage reported by the owners of this bike. However, it is worth mentioning that the real-world mileage can vary with the local traffic conditions and individuals’ riding styles.

Furthermore, the top speed of the Bullet 350 is 110 km/h.

Like other BS6 bikes, this 350cc bike also has a fuel injection technology that makes it fuel efficient and provides a better engine response than the BS4 engine. Many two-wheeler manufacturers adopted this state-of-the-art technology in the BS6 engines. Primarily, it has a controlled fuel supply system, followed by other added benefits. It will prevent lag when going uphill. Drastically decreased the cold-start problems and other engine lags.

More on specifications, the Royal Enfield Bullet 350 stands on 35mm telescopic forks at the front and twin shock absorbers with five-step adjustable pre-load suspension at the rear. The adjustable rear suspension is useful when facing different conditions. You can either make it too stiff or too soft. Else you can keep it on ‘Balance.’ So, if there is a rough patch with a lot of undulations and potholes, then the suspension should be on the soft side. On the other hand, if there is a straight road and riding at high speeds, the suspension should be tuned to a stiff side.

As for the braking duties, the Royal Enfield Bullet 350 has a standard disc-drum setup. It doesn’t have dual disc brakes as an option. It is worth mentioning that a two-wheeler with dual disc brakes will always offer an impressive braking performance than disc-drum or all-drum brakes. However, this bike runs on 19-inch wheels.

In addition to that, this 350cc cruiser bike from Royal Enfield has a single-channel ABS. This safety feature is standard in both of its variants. Considering the Royal Enfield Bullet 350’s price, the top model should have received a dual-channel ABS. Please note that a bike with dual-channel ABS and dual-disc brakes can decrease the chances of mishaps, especially during emergency brakings. A bike with dual-channel ABS can prevent the bike from skidding or making a stoppie.

Features

As far as the features are concerned, the Royal Enfield Bullet has a fully analogue instrument cluster, which shows relevant readings, such as speed, RPM, distance made, etc. In addition, it also has a low fuel indicator and a low oil indicator. The top variant of this bike is also equipped with an electric start (ES), pass light and a pillion seat with footrests and grabrails.

For exterior lighting, this 350cc cruiser bike has halogen bulbs inside the headlight, brake and taillight and turn signals. It also gets LED DRLs. For added convenience, it has automatic headlights.

So, these were a few features of the Bullet 350. But, given the price, the bikemaker should have atleast offered optional all-disc brakes or a USB port if not connected-bike technology.

Prices and Variants
