Alaska offers three fare categories: stopover, main, and first fares. Each fare category has a unique policy regarding flight changes, whereas award flights have a single policy.

  • The cheapest fares are saver fares, similar to a Basic Economy ticket. It is also the most demanding but excludes all rights to cancellation, refund, or replacement.
  • You must cancel and then rebook to modify the Saver prices.
  • The only method to receive a refund is to cancel the flight within 24 hours of making the reservation. But if you cancel the Saver fare up to 14 days before departure, you’ll get a travel credit worth 50% of the total fare plus all applicable taxes and fees returned.
  • Customers traveling in First Class and Prime can make free modifications, but flight departure time is not on different days.
  • You must pay the difference between the original and selected flights when you make a flight change. You will receive a refund if the new flight is less expensive than the previous one.

Alaska Same Day Change Policy

  • You must pay between $25 and $50 for same-day modification. However, there will be no additional fees. Only adjustments made on the same day during the check-in window are permitted, and the change must be requested before the departure of your original flight.
  • The new flight you want to take must keep the exact origin, destination, corridor, and connecting cities as your original scheduled flight and depart on the same calendar day.

  • There is a $25 cost for flights inside the state of California.

Steps to Change Alaska Flight
