She then went on to star in hugely successful movies like Dil, Beta, Hum Aapke Hai Koun, and Dil To Pagal Hai. While her rivals have always struggled to keep up with her, this trained kathak dancer nonetheless captivates audiences with her elegant movements.

Movie Career
This Bollywood dance star, who wanted to study microbiology, claims that she landed her first acting job in Abodh by accident. Her friend’s father, who once worked for Rajshri Productions, saw her interest in dance performances and theatre productions when she was still in school. She was the ideal youthful, innocent, new face for the movie, in his opinion. She struck it lucky in this box office flop from 1984. The actress continued to work in a few more movies until she scored a major breakthrough with Tezaab (1988). In addition to making Madhuri an instant success, the N. Chandra-directed Anil Kapoor film gave her her first nomination for Best Actress at the Filmfare Awards. Her dance prowess in the well-known song “Ek do teen” captured viewers’ attention, and her fans are still salivating over her moves in the song today. The song’s choreographer, Saroj Khan, received the Filmfare Award for Best Choreography, while the song’s playback singer, Alka Yagnik, received the award for Best Female Playback Singer.
Madhuri scored two successes in 1989, including Tridev (1989), in which she appeared alongside Naseeruddin Shah, Jackie Shroff, Sangeeta Bijlani, and Sunny Deol. She also had a big success that year with Ram Lakhan by Subhash Ghai. Madhuri starred in this family drama opposite Jackie Shroff, Anil Kapoor, Dimple Kapadia, Rakhee, Amrish Puri, and Anupam Kher, which had the clichéd premise of two sons seeking retribution. The year’s biggest box office hit was it. The same year, Madhuri appeared in a minor role in Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s Parinda, and her performance received high praise.
Another smash hit was the romantic comedy Dil from 1990, which starred Aamir Khan. The largest box office hit of the year, this Indra Kumar-directed movie about a friendship between classes gave Madhuri her first Filmfare Award for Best Actress. The actress went on to win her subsequent Filmfare Award for Best Actress for her work in the family drama Beta (1992), which once more brought her and Anil Kapoor together. One of the most well-known Hindi songs of the 20th century is her sensual dance routine, “Dhak dhak karne laga” in Beta. She then performed the contentious song “Choli ke Peeche Kya Hai” from Subhash Ghai’s 1993 crime drama Khalnayak, in which her acting was also highly praised. The movie courted two controversies: an obscenity prosecution brought against the aforementioned song and Dutt’s arrest for violating TADA. The movie was included among the top 100 films in the world according to the film magazine Sight & Sound. Nevertheless, the movie was a financial hit. But it was the Bollywood smash success, Sooraj Barjatya’s masterpiece family drama Hum Aapke Hai Koun, that delivered Madhuri one of her biggest hits the year after! The movie made 1.35 billion Indian rupees globally.
