Since its inception in the Indian market in 2019, the Kia Seltos has been one of the bestselling Kia cars in the country. It was long due for an update, but now, the Korean carmaker is all set to launch the Kia Seltos facelift. As per sources, the updated iteration has arrived at your nearest showroom, and its bookings have also commenced with a token amount of Rs 25,000.
Apart from that, the price list of the 2023 Kia Seltos is yet to be announced. It might be the most expensive SUV in the segment, as it will receive superior active safety features, notably the Level-2 ADAS. Besides that, it will also have a panoramic sunroof. The MG Astor also boasts these two prominent features, but the current Seltos’s is still higher than the MG Astor’s. That said, it will most likely command a higher price than its rivals.
So, let’s see what all offerings the 2023 Kia Seltos will have. Let’s read on.
Powertrains and Other Specifications
As per the sources, the Kia Seltos facelift is expected to have three engine options: a 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine, a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine and a 1.5-litre turbo-diesel engine.
It is also worth mentioning that the Korean carmaker has axed the 1.4-litre turbo-petrol engine from the current pre-facelift Kia Seltos. However, the carmaker will offer a new 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine on the 2023 Seltos.
As for the figures, the 1.5-litre, Advanced Smartstream, naturally-aspirated, four-cylinder petrol mill is tuned to churn out 113 bhp at 6300 rpm and 144 Nm of peak torque at 4500 rpm. Moreover, the 1.5-litre, CRDi VGT, turbocharged, four-cylinder diesel unit is tuned to churn out 114 bhp at 4000 rpm and 250 Nm of peak torque at 1500 rpm.
The transmission options are expected to be retained, such as a six-speed manual unit, an iMT unit, a CVT unit, a seven-speed DCT, and a six-speed torque converter. So, you can expect a nearly identical driving experience from the Seltos 2023 as its pre-facelift version.
As far as the suspension setup is concerned, the revamped iteration of the Seltos will most likely continue to stand on the same suspension setup. That said, it will incorporate a McPherson Strut suspension with a coil spring at the front and a coupled torsion beam axle (CTBA) suspension with a coil spring at the rear.
